The Angel Tree Project at Zion is an annual tradition that brings warmth and kindness to seafarers during the holiday season. This year, our focus is on supporting merchant marines and seafarers who work tirelessly on our oceans, often away from their families. In collaboration with the Lutheran Seafarers & International House in New York City, and with the involvement of U.S. port cities like Baltimore, we aim to deliver meaningful gifts to those at sea.
Each gift bag, prepared with care by the Social Ministry Committee, will include essential items such as a hooded sweatshirt, work T-shirts, thermal socks, a knit winter hat, and a can of peanuts.
To participate, please write “Angel Tree Project” on your check or offering envelope and place it in the offering plate, or use the special envelopes available on the tree. Your generosity ensures that 25 seafarers receive a touch of holiday cheer and warmth. Thank you for your support and kindness.
