Embrace tenderness and vulnerability

Western culture rewards us for being able to pull ourselves together and carry on with life even in the face of loss and sorrow. Yet Jesus takes time to weep when his friend dies. He recognizes tears as a gateway to the holy, connecting us with God and our heart’s need for healing. Let us learn to give space to the vulnerability of being human.
