The Fall of Communism and the Berlin Wall were emotional times at Zion. The loosening of communications and travel restrictions in the late eighties and early nineties, allowed Zion members to at last communicate with East German families out of touch for decades. Finally, when the walls came down, many older members of Zion were reunited with loved ones in the former East Germany as German reunification began. Modern Zion Church enjoys free travel and communication with all of Germany, a feat not possible a mere decade earlier. This piece of the Berlin Wall was mounted the year following the
fall of the wall.
