This bible was presented to Zion by Minna K Stitely, a longtime member of the Edelweiss Club, in loving memory of her sister, Käthe (Kitty) Spielmann Staub. The Bible is a Luther version of the Bible illustrated with woodcuts and was printed in Basel/Switzerland in 1701. The bible had been purchased by the late Calvin Staub of Frederick while serving in Frankfurt/Germany in the 1950's. In October 1988, it was the oldest bible in a bible contest held in Frederick, MD. |
