THE WORKING GROUP MEETS ZION
From
July 9 until July 16 the Lutheran
World Federation, headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, hosted its annual
session of the Lutheran-Roman Catholic Commission on Unity in Baltimore. 12
members from each side (including staff), chaired by a Hungarian Lutheran
bishop and a Polish Roman Catholic bishop, worked at Zion on designated topics
pertinent to both Christian bodies.
The
Commission was housed at The Tremont Plaza Hotel at St. Paul Place and
conducted its meetings in Zion’s Sunday School Room. The Ladies of Zion
provided dinner meals in the Adlersaal; luncheons catered by our
neighbor, the Hollywood Diner. Members of the Commission preached at both
services at Zion on Sunday, July 11; and a below are photographs from the
question-and-answer period at the Coffee Hour on Sunday July 11th.
A yacht excursion was held later that evening for the guests and a great time
was had by all.
