The Zion Church has several established channels for making donations and bequests to the Zion Church and the charities it supports.  Please contact us for more information on how you can help preserve the legacy of Zion.

ZION CHURCH – DESIGNATED FUNDS

 A – BOARD DESIGNATED FUNDS

 LCW Altar Supply Fund: started by the Lutheran Church Women (LCW) with the remainder of their group checking account in 1999 for supporting the purchase of Altar supplies. OPEN FOR DONATIONS [C]

 Pastor’s Discretionary Fund: to be used by Pastor as he sees fit. It is in continual used and is funded by donations, including Pastor’s honoraria for occasional services. OPEN FOR DONATIONS [C][1]

 Zion Literacy Fund: started in 1987 to help the outreach ministry through the literacy program; currently dormant. [C]

 Zion Charity Fund: started by members in 1995 to help people in need. This fund also contains money given in memory of Hannelies Penner for support of the elderly. OPEN FOR DONATIONS [C]

 Organ Fund: started by council in 1999 as Organ Restoration Fund for the restoration of the existing organ. Following the 2002 decision of council to replace rather than restore the organ, the money will be used toward helping to purchase new organ in conjunction with the Restoration Campaign II.  Zion Restoration Fund: (aka ZRC Fund) started in 1987 to provide a vehicle for donations from Friends of Zion and the wider community for the Zion Restoration Campaign. Revived in 2002. OPEN FOR DONATIONS [This fund has its own checking account] [M][2].

 German Forum Fund: started with seed money by council 1996, this fund channels all income and expenses for events sponsored by the Zion Forum for German culture. [C]

 Operating Fund: this is for all expenses not covered by other funds. All donations not designated by the donor or act of council go into this fund along with legacies received by Zion. 10% of undesignated legacies are invested with ELCA Mission Bonds. OPEN FOR DONATIONS. [M]
